General Treasury of Social Security

Madrid, Spain

Offices

Project Description:

The headquarters of the General Treasury of Social Security in Madrid underwent a comprehensive interior renovation, designed to update its workspaces, improve operational efficiency, and adapt to new standards of comfort and sustainability. The renovation was carried out with complete respect for the building's original architectural design, without altering its exterior configuration or urban image.

The interior spaces were reorganized to optimize functionality, accessibility, and communication between departments, incorporating new layouts, technical furniture, and more efficient customer service areas. The project improved the environmental quality of the spaces by incorporating natural lighting, smart climate control systems, and sustainable materials.

The original envelope was kept intact, preserving the heritage value and architectural coherence of the building in its urban context. The intervention focused on enhancing energy performance from the inside, through passive solutions, automation of installations, and low-consumption criteria.

This renovation has created an updated, functional working environment that respects the existing architecture and reinforces the institution's commitment to modernization, sustainability, and quality public service.
